Larissa
Natividad
Manager of Injury Management Services (VIC / TAS)
Melbourne
Larissa joined APM in 2005 as a Rehabilitation
Consultant and quickly took on additional responsibility
as a Senior Work Capacity Assessor. She moved
into a Team Leader’s role the following year,
before securing her current position overseeing
Injury Management services for Victoria &
Tasmania.
“What I’m actually doing on a day-to-day basis
has changed dramatically in the time I’ve been
at APM, and that’s great. I can easily get bored
if I’m not challenged – and here I’m provided
with different challenges in my everyday work
to keep me motivated & interested.
When I joined APM as a consultant, I enjoyed having
a positive impact on an individual’s return to
work. In the Team Leader and Management roles,
I’ve enjoyed being able to influence the way consultants
can perform their work, as well as being a support
person and mentor. I love working with people,
and that has changed from being client based in
a consultant’s role, to more recently focussing
more on the team, my peers and our customers.
The team I work in is really focussed on the same
objectives, and the team being dynamic and energetic
makes it a great environment to work in. At APM
I’ve had the opportunity to meet some truly great
individuals too.
APM has always initiated measures to give me the
opportunity to work on my development through
accessing formal professional development and
mentoring. When I look back, I’ve definitely grown
a lot in my 3 years here”.

Lucy Hartley
Branch Manager (Tamworth)
Based in Sydney
Lucy joined APM in 2005 as a Team Leader
in our Perth redeployment team, before transferring
to Sydney in the same role the following year.
In 2007 Lucy moved across to APM’s Employment
Services team as Branch Manager (Chatswood), assisting
in the initial rollout of our Employment Services
division. The opportunity then arose to take on
a split role, also remotely managing our Tamworth
Injury Management Branch. During that time Lucy
was also seconded to Darwin for 2 weeks as acting
State Manager (NT). In 2008, Lucy has continued
to oversee Tamworth, whilst taking on responsibility
between March and October as Acting Branch Manager (Sydney) providing cover
for the Manager’s extended traveling break.
“I have put my hand up for lots of things,
and in return I’ve been given a great deal of
opportunity at APM and the support I’ve had from
the management team along the way has been brilliant.
In my current role I enjoy problem solving and
also love managing & developing the team.
I’m involved in business development, and also
really enjoy managing the accounts of agents and
employers. They say that variety is the spice
of life - At APM I’ve had the opportunity to experience
varied roles across Australia - and to meet some
great people along the way”.

Nicole Peresso
Team Leader - Employment
Services.
Ringwood
After an earlier career in Primary
education and childcare, Nicole made a successful
career change into Employment Services. After
picking up 6 years of industry experience, Nicole
came on board with APM as an Employment Consultant
in our Frankston office in June 2007. Nicole
began 2008 as a Team Leader,
and also took on the responsibility of acting
Regional Coordinator between May and July. As a growing national Company, APM offers a wealth of career development opportunity.
“I’m passionate about this
industry and what it represents – I love sharing
that knowledge with people who also want to be
part of this industry. I really enjoy the people
management aspect of my role. I also work hands
on with clients, which I love. I’ve moved forward
much quicker here than I ever have previously
and I work in a team that has a wealth of knowledge
and experience, that also really knows what it’s
doing. I feel blessed that my hard work has been
acknowledged and that APM has allowed me to grow
and to be a part of its growth”.

Elana Merlo
Physical Team Leader
West Perth
Based in our West Perth head
office, Elana heads up the Branch’s Physical Team.
It’s been a smooth progression for Elana, whose
relationship with APM began in 2005 with a student
placement before joining APM as a Rehabilitation
Consultant after graduating as an Occupational
Therapist.
“I was due to do my final
year practicum placement in a hospital, but I
had an interview with APM and was really impressed.
They took me on for a 5 week placement which gave
me great exposure to the industry and confirmed
that I wanted to work in this field. I enjoy the
flexibility of the work, especially the worksite
assessments. It’s a great team, and APM has provided
great Managers and excellent mentors along the
way to shape my skills - and now I’m mentoring
OT placement students myself!”

Amelia Howard
Job Capacity Assessment (JCA) Manager - VIC/TAS
Melbourne
Amelia joined our Melbourne Injury
Management team as a Rehabilitation Consultant
before transitioning into Employment Services
as a Senior Employment Consultant. This position
enabled Amelia to gain valuable experience in
supporting a team, and in January this was recognised
as she gained promotion to lead the Melbourne
JCA team, and then swiftly on to become the
VIC/TAS JCA Manager. This experience has been gained whilst
remaining based in Melbourne’s CBD.
“I really enjoy the variety
at APM. I’ve been given lots of opportunity to
try different things and the company really encourages
development. There are lots of senior staff willing
to support & encourage, and I’ve benefited
from seeing a range of management styles, to help
me pick the bits from each that best suit my style!
I can now use what I’ve learned to make more of
a difference to the consultants on our JCA team.
We have a lot of new graduates, and I enjoy helping
them get their heads around the industry - I think
it’s an exciting time for them, as APM has introduced
a streamlined induction process where they can
really learn to master their professional skills,
but can also add new facets to their job once
they’ve settled in.
I also get the opportunity
to travel interstate, which I enjoy – and have
recently spend a couple of weeks on secondment
in Hobart, and have found the best muffins in
the world in Mildura!”

Rebecca Royle
Rehabilitation Consultant (Exercise Physiologist)
Darwin
Rebecca relocated to Darwin from WA in
2007 to join APM as a Rehabilitation Consultant.
“I’m originally from Perth, and relocated
to Darwin in 2007. APM were really supportive.
All the help I needed was provided, and I was
made to feel really welcome - Everyone’s very
friendly and approachable.
The lifestyle here is great - It’s summer
all year around, so there’s a big emphasis on
the outdoors and lots to do. Darwin is regional
but it’s still a city with all the amenities you’d
look for - but with much less traffic than Perth…and
plenty of parking!
APM is a respected employer here and
I really feel valued both by our clients and within
the team. I also feel my views are listened to,
which is important. We work hard, but there’s
a really good work and life balance. In my role,
I also get to fly to some really remote outreach
locations, which is great - the landscape surrounding
Darwin is beautiful”. |
