This is an integral part of Aged Care Reform in Australia and an exciting opportunity to be on the leading edge of this change. In these roles, available on full time or part time basis with hours that can be structured to suit you, you'll be part of a positive, cohesive group of experienced Assessors.

Uniquely, direct care won't be part of your day-to-day - instead, you'll apply your experience to:

  • Conduct desktop reviews of existing care documentation
  • Interview staff about care receiver capabilities and care needs
  • Conduct interviews with care receivers
  • Collaborate with other practitioners in your team to accurately complete assessment tools
  • Combine your findings to make an assessment of the appropriate classification for restorative care / reablement.

Assessors are being sought, dependent on experience. Travel to regional locations may be required, with applicable meal and travel allowances provided.

Why apply

  • You'll be part of the APM group of companies, a network of national and international health brands, offering an exciting path of career development for you to explore
  • Full, paid training provided and a strong support network to help you do your best
  • Future opportunities for further specialised training to carry out a wider array of assessments for older Australians

To be considered, you will need:

  • 5 years’ experience in aged care or a related area of health care
  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications in Nursing, Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy
  • Current unrestricted General Registration AHPRA
  • Demonstrated Australian aged care experience including working with people with dementia
  • Demonstrated experience conducting clinical assessments using a range of assessment tools

...and skills related to motivation, organisation and working independently and as part of a team.
