Due to expansion of our services, we have 2 new vacancies in Auckland be based in Albany/Henderson and East Tamaki.   Travel within the wider Auckland region is required for each role and a company vehicle will be provided. 


THE MISSION:
Support customers on their individual journeys towards work and independence.


It’s a job like no other!  You will support a variety of job seekers, including  school leavers and those with health conditions and/or disabilities to gain meaningful, long-term employment.  Your day will be filled with: 

  • Getting to know your caseload of jobseekers, understanding their stories, and fostering trust so that you can effectively  help them  gain mahi  aligned with their goals, experience and strengths.
  • Helping  jobseekers upskill by identifying training needs for their chosen industry/sector, and liaising with training providers to gain short course certification
  • Facilitating access to well-being/health/ disability  community  providers (including APM’s own network of Allied Health professionals)  so that our customers are well-supported in their transition into the world of work
  • Creating meaningful connections with local employers and businesses, government & industry/sector partners, disability support and other  providers to seize golden work opportunities for our jobseekers

Our Employment Consultants are selected from a wide range of careers -- including sales, social services, business development, government and industry.  Life skills, enthusiasm to help people,  grit & resilience, and the ability to bring the best out of people are key attributes we look for.   


You will need to be self-driven, even  entrepreneurial in your approach, and be comfortable working autonomously.   Experience or understanding of the Mental Health and Disability sector would be advantageous, as would knowledge of the challenges the Post-Covid19 landscape presents from both jobseekers’ and employers’ perspectives.
