IT Network & Communications Engineer

The role

In this permanent role, based in either New South Wales, Victoria or Perth, you will be responsible for the critical network and communications infrastructure that underpins all of APM’s information technology environment in Australia and New Zealand. Focusing on procuring, managing, monitoring, operating and refreshing the environment you will also work closely with a high performing IT team and report directly to the IT Infrastructure Team Leader.

Responsibilities will include…

• Provide technical support across the business for the design, implementation and day-to-day management of the data networks in Azure, on-premise and remote office locations.
• Perform daily and routine Network management tasks, including installations, moves, adds, and changes, whilst ensuring strict adherence to change control policy.
• Work with business stakeholders to determine requirements for network and Firewall changes, and implement them inline with agreed expectations.
• Work with the Infrastructure Team to ensure the high level of availability of the Network is maintained in line with defined service level agreements.
• Participate in planning and work on continues improvement initiatives.

You will have…

• Extensive experience and specialist skills in the configuration and maintenance of networking/communications infrastructure, including the ability to support a variety of technologies
• Experience designing, building and supporting Meraki, Cisco, Palo Alto FW’s, Netscaler LB’s, AWS and Azure
• Proven experience designing, building and supporting SD-Wan infrastructure
• Monitoring the performance of the organisation’s communications carrier/network providers in relation to established service level agreements (SLA's) and business needs
• Managing the analysis of network traffic data and providing recommendations on performance improvements to voice and data infrastructure
• ITIL experience
