The role
In this fulltime position, working in the Fannie Bay or Tiwi location, you will be responsible for assisting people with disability, their families, and their carers to build and pursue their goal for a good life, exercise choice and control, and engage with the National Disability Insurance Scheme – Partners in Community.


You will be responsible for some or all of the following:

  • Collaborating with participants to develop plans that support their goals
  • Connecting people with disabilities to support within the local community
  • Supporting participants to navigate and optimise their engagement with the NDIS
  • Improving community knowledge of the NDIS and creating new opportunities to connect participants to services and support
  • Meeting identified contractual KPIs

Strong personal values based on understanding and supporting the rights of people with disability to live full lives at home and in community means you can work collaboratively alongside individuals and families. You are confident supporting people from a range of diversities including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse and LGBTIQA+ communities.

 
You will have:

  • Demonstrated relevant experience, lived experience and or relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Experience in planning with people to achieve collaborative outcomes
  • Knowledge of the local community and the available options for social & economic participation for people with disability
  • Demonstrated computer skills including capability with Microsoft Office 365
  • Access to your own transport
  • Currently hold or able to hold a Working with Children and or a Vulnerable People Check
