Occupational therapist supervisor for international therapists

Early Start Australia part of APM Group is a national multidisciplinary allied health organisation, committed to delivering evidence-based early intervention and therapy services to children and their families. Our substantial growth across the country has necessitated recruitment of experienced international therapists.

In order to support our international candidates through their pre-requisite obligations to achieve registration with AHPRA and OTA, we seek the services of a senior OT who has experience with supervising international candidates in accordance with these registration requirements. The service provider will have flexibility around hours and days to suit current needs.

What you will be doing:

• Support overseas trained therapists to work within the Australian healthcare context and to set and achieve goals to demonstrate competency as a registered Occupational Therapist through their period of supervised practice.
• Be accountable for safe and positive outcomes for supervisees and their clients
• Provide effective and encouraging communication
• Maintain high standard of written records throughout the period of supervision
• Ensure supervisees provide culturally safe and respectful practice
• Work within the OT Board of Australia and AHPRA framework for supervised practice
• Work collaboratively with other staff involved with supporting the therapist

What you need to join:

• Compliance – National Police Check, Working with Children check, NDIS Workers Screening check, Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate, First Aid Certificate, Driver’s License & Vehicle.
• Relevant qualifications and current AHPRA Registration
• Reliable and flexible to meet the needs of the Occupational Therapist under supervision
