Occupational Therapist - Wairarapa

Are you seeking a role where you can truly make a difference in the community?  Want variety and autonomy, where you can manage your own diary, with a combination of office work and client visits in the community?

Based in the Wairarapa region a typical week will involve:

  • Clinical assessments of clients of all ages – working across a variety of contracts which could include Vocational Rehabilitation, Concussion, Pain Management, Training for Independence. 
  • Developing and implementing rehabilitation programmes to facilitate return to work or independence.
  • Working in a multi-disciplinary team, liaising with other allied health team members and ACC Case Managers.
  • Using your clinical expertise and reasoning in written reports, summarising clients' assessment, goals and progress.
  • Regional travel – a company car is provided (for full time employees)

What you need to thrive with us:

We are looking for individuals committed to providing a professional and quality service, this includes first rate time management, clinical expertise and report writing skills.  You’ll be technologically savvy, able to work with online client management systems and Microsoft Office suite.  To slot into the APM Team, we value a growth mindset, willingness to learn and having a collaborative, team approach.  

Experience in any of the following areas is preferred: 

Musculoskeletal, Multi-Trauma, Vocational Rehabilitation, Concussion, Community-based Rehabilitation, Pain Management, Brain Injury or Spinal Cord injury Rehabilitation, Support Needs assessments (SNA), Housing modification, Wheelchair and Seating Assessments and Mental Health (as applicable).

Essential requirements:

  • The relevant tertiary qualification (BHSc OT)
  • Current registration with the NZ professional body or ability to apply for this
  • Minimum of 2 years’ post graduate clinical experience
  • A full NZ/ Australian Driver's Licence
