The role – Occupational Therapist (Paediatrics), Wellington

We have an exciting new opportunity to join the Wellington team!  We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to deliver and grow the paediatrics service in the wider region. 

You will have the opportunity to work across our varied contracts with a paediatric component, as well as private referrals.  You will assess and provide rehabilitation to clients with a variety of injuries or disabilities, minimising barriers which may impact on their ability to engage in school and other activities.   

You will be able to build strong responsive relationships with children (0-16 years) and their families, work in a multidisciplinary community of care with other allied health professionals.  You will also be passionate about best practice and ongoing professional development.

The day to day 

You will be delivering assessments and rehabilitation to a range of clients. Your work will include: 

  • Rehabilitation - clinic, workplace, and community settings  
  • Liaising with case managers, internal panels, and other team members.  
  • Providing expert advice on clients' abilities and a plan with clear goals for their rehab journey. 

Requirements for the role 

  • BHSc OT
  • Preferably minimum 2 years' post qualification paediatric experience
  • Current registration with the NZ professional body (OTBNZ) & APC 
  • Full NZ/AU Driver's Licence
