With 350 employees APM holds contracts across ACC, MSD, NZDF as well as private employers, providing services including Vocational and Community Rehabilitation, Pain and Injury Management, Workplace Health, Allied Health Intervention and Employment Services.
What you’ll be doing
Working from any of our New Zealand offices, you will work with the client and IDT to reduce / manage symptoms, maximise independence and return to pre-injury roles and activities. This may include, but is not limited to:
Deliver medical assessments to clients with a variety of neurological (including concussion/brain injury), musculoskeletal, and/or pain conditions as well as some pre-employment screening, which may be in person or via tele-health
Conduct medication reviews, medical capacity for work, etc.
Provide medical management of identified injury-related medical needs, e.g.: medication for pain and/or symptom management, ordering of further investigations for confirmation of diagnosis and/or consideration of differential diagnosis, provision of Interventional Procedures (e.g.: injections)
Monitor client progress or responses to treatments, as appropriate
Provide recommendations to client, their GP, funder, and/or IDT to support clients’ overall rehabilitation goals
What you’ll need to succeed
Relevant tertiary qualifications
Current vocational registration in and practicing within a relevant field, e.g. Internal Medicine / Neurology / Neurosurgery / Occupational Medicine Paediatrics / Pain Medicine / Psychiatrist / Rehabilitation Medicine / Sports Medicine
Registration with Medical Council of New Zealand and valid annual practising certificate
Fellow of the relevant faculty
Greater than 2 years' experience in acquired or traumatic brain injury and/or musculoskeletal medicine and/or pain management
Current full NZ/AU driver’s licence (clean)
