The role
We’re looking for a Senior Legal Adviser - Aged Care & Disability to join the corporate Legal team of 9 other lawyers (based in Australia and London), preferably in central Sydney but who could be based at one of our other offices around Australia on a permanent, full-time basis. Key responsibilities will include:
Acting as a trusted business partner to APM’s Aged Care & Disability business
Helping the business navigate the complex regulatory and ethical requirements of working in the Aged Care & Disability sectors
Assisting in negotiation with and helping to drive change to meet policy and strategic imperatives for our government funders
Reviewing and advising on commercial contracts that support and benefit the Disability & Aged Care business
Assisting with and integrating acquisitions in these sectors.
To be considered, you will ideally have:
Admission to practise in a jurisdiction in Australia or the Commonwealth;
Experience working with a disability services provider, aged care services provider, in the health / allied health sector, or in government or at a law firm with a good understanding of the issues facing those sectors
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office
High level of attention to detail
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to work as part of a team and an ability to prioritise workload based on business need
Commercial contracting experience would also be highly desirable
This role would suit lawyers with at least 6 years post qualification experience (PQE), but we would consider other applicants from outside this range.
