We are looking for a Speech Pathologist (Early Intervention) to join our team at our clinic based in Hawthorn, VIC who is passionate about delivering assessment and intervention to children and adolescents.

Our renowned and unique autism early intervention service has expanded into a bespoke Early Intervention Therapy Centre to offer our exceptional services to more families. With high-level local and national clinical governance and expertise, Early Start Hawthorn offers our Early Start Denver Model programs and transdisciplinary pediatric services. Our client group is predominantly young children identified on the spectrum and their families who we support to meet their developmental goals in a safe, warm, nurturing space. Our team consists of speech pathologists, occupational therapists, psychologists, educators, behaviour analysts and early intervention therapists who are all passionate about early play-based interventions.

The Opportunity:

The role will provide effective and efficient evidenced-based speech pathology within the allocated caseload of Early Intervention Programs. The Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) is our evidence based early intervention program we provide to children under school age.

You will work in a transdisciplinary model alongside other health professionals such as Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Special Education Teachers and Behaviour Therapists. You will also be responsible for individual speech pathology assessments and intervention services in our Allied Health Teams. This position enables you work collaboratively in a transdisciplinary team while still maintaining and enhancing your own speech pathology skills with your own speech caseload.
Onsite training in ESDM is provided and working in a transdisciplinary model.

• Provide evidence based assessment and therapy to a paediatric caseload - direct support to children with developmental delays and/or disabilities;
• Day to day in the role will include assessment and intervention sessions with a mixed caseload;
• Interventions are one-on-one with focus on evidence based practice;
• Appointments can take place in our fantastic clinic space, at client’s homes, schools and via telehealth - administer assessments, providing direct and indirect intervention, liaising with families, teachers, professionals and support staff;
• Work collaboratively within a transdisciplinary team environment to deliver quality, evidence-based outcomes.

What do you need to join?

• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline;
• Passion for making a difference with a focus on making therapy fun, engaging and meaningful for families!
• Exceptional communication skills that enable you to work in a culturally rich and diverse environment and collaborate in a multidisciplinary team environment;
• Effective time management and attention to detail;
• Experience in working with children and/or disability and confidence in your role with children and their parents;
• Compliance – SPA Membership, Working with Children Check, National Police Check, NDIS workers screening check, Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate, First Aid Training, Driver’s License & Vehicle.
