The Construct Health team in Mackay are proud to provide quality exercise physiology, physiotherapy and occupational health services to both our patients and corporate clients in the Mackay region and beyond. In Mackay you can find two of the four Construct Health clinics in the Bowen Basin.

About the role

This Mackay based residential role will be a part of our healthcare team delivering Exercise Physiology, Physiotherapy and associated services in our four room and gym-based clinic located in the beautiful Northern Beaches area, as well as a growing clinic in Ooralea (southern Mackay area) featuring multiple treatment rooms and a separate big gym space within a local GP and Sports Doctor Clinic. In addition you may have the option to gain occupational health experience via on-site projects for our corporate clients.

You will be treating a mixture of chronic disease, musculoskeletal, chronic pain and oncology patients in the private setting as well as via the DVA, Medicare, third party and NDIS schemes. Our clinic focuses on patient centered care, supporting patient self-efficacy and true lifestyle changes to facilitate positive long term outcomes.  

We are highly involved in the community including relationships with local chronic pain programs, running groups, schools and gyms.

Work alongside a team of experienced Physiotherapists as well as an Exercise Physiologist with over 15 years experience.

  • An internal in-clinic professional development program overseen by our clinical director and local clinic team leaders

  • A 2-year new graduate program (if applicable)
  • Weekly one on ones for support, coaching and clinical mentoring as required and run by our local lead Exercise Physiologist with close to 15 years’ experience in the field

  • Access to a local allied health practitioner network including Physios, EPs, OTs, Psychologists, Dietitians and others from various businesses across the region
  • Free access to a large number of scientific journals
  • Approximately 20% of your work week dedicated to completing your administrative parts of the role
  • Half yearly all-team social events with our multiple clinics across the Bowen Basin

Skills and experience

  • To apply, you must be an accredited Exercise Physiologist with ESSA and hold current 1st aid qualifications. You will ideally have two to five years of clinical experience, but new graduates are welcome to apply
  • Regardless of your level of experience, an alignment with our healthcare philosophy of integrating progressive exercise and education is essential to ensure your success as a member of the Construct Health team.
  • Experience in musculoskeletal rehabilitation and exercise oncology will be beneficial
  • Experience in working with DVA, Medicare, third party and NDIS patients will be beneficial
