Expressions of Interest - Apprenticeship Field Officers

We have multiple Full Time opportunities available where you could play a crucial part in the development, support, and tailored end to end services for apprentices and employers, as well as supporting apprentices with specific needs and supports.

Fostering positive relationships with apprentices and employers, monitoring progression, and ensuring compliance is met under departmental and organisational requirements will see you succeed in this role. 

Locations for this role may include: Bayside, Bendigo, Calder, East Gippsland, Ararat, Geelong, Goulburn Valley, Colac, Latrobe Valley, Cranbourne, Mornington, Epping and Westgate. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular site visits to apprentice workplaces to assess progress, provide feedback and offer support and guidance as needed.
  • Collaborate with employers to develop individualised training plans for apprentices, ensuring they gain the skills and experience required for their own chosen trade.
  • Monitor apprentice performance and compliance and program requirements, addressing any issues or concerns in a timely and effective manner.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination between apprentices, employers, and training providers to ensure a smooth and successful apprenticeship experience.
  • Assist apprentices in navigating challenges and obstacles they may encounter during their apprenticeship, advocating on their behalf and connecting them with apprenticeship support as needed.
  • Promote apprenticeship opportunities to various stakeholders including Employment Service providers, Community organisations and employers.
  • Coordinate the compliance and administration of apprenticeship and traineeship sign up.
  • Communicate relevant and up to date information to stakeholders in relation to apprenticeships and traineeships.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of apprentice progress, site visits and interactions.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous experience in apprenticeship program management or related role
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills through various methods with the ability to build rapport and trust with apprentices and employers.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and standards related to apprenticeships.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work independently in a field-based environment, with the willingness to travel to various work sites and required.
  • Adaptable and flexible team player
