Tax Accountant

About the role:

Based in our head office in West Perth, the Tax Accountant will play an important role in supporting the direct & indirect tax compliance obligations across the Australian & New Zealand companies. Reporting to the Tax Manager, you will be a part of a diverse, fast paced, and inclusive team that strongly supports the day-to-day success and operation of our community focused for purpose business, that truly makes a difference to those that need it, around the world.

Your responsibility:

  • Preparing and meeting our tax compliance and reporting requirements, including income tax, GST, FBT and payroll tax
  • Preparing and assisting with statutory tax effect accounting and reporting
  • Assisting external tax advisors with information requests and supporting documentation
  • Undertake ad-hoc tax technical research and provide tax advice to the business
  • Assist the Tax Manager with broader group initiatives, such as international tax, Transfer Pricing, BEPS and M&A.
  • Assist with the collation and preparation of information for revenue authority reviews
  • Support with other administrative tasks and ad-hoc projects as required
  • Maintain knowledge on current tax laws and regulations

About you:

  • CA or CPA qualification, with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum 4 to 5 years demonstrated corporate tax experience in commerce or practice environment
  • Have previous experience with tax effect accounting and preparing income tax returns for consolidated groups
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills
  • Strong prioritisation and problem-solving skills with ability to be able to think outside of the box and work with efficiency
  • A driven individual with a passion for continuous improvement and professional growth, eager to expand their experience within a large multi-national group
  • High degree of self-motivation, collaboration, and outcome-driven work ethic
