Gagandeep Saini joined APM Assessment Services in late 2022 as an Aged Care Assessor. As part of his role, he visits aged care facilities to conduct clinical assessments that help aged care residents obtain funding from the Department of Health and Aged Care to assist with their needs.

For a short period of time, Gagandeep decided to explore other opportunities in the aged care sector, but just three months later, he returned to APM as he realised how much he values being part of a supportive culture, which contributes to his overall wellbeing, and he was welcomed back with open arms!

A nurturing environment leads to growth

Gagandeep was a Registered Nurse for nine years before joining APM.

“Moving into an assessor role was a huge change for me, in a positive way though. Earlier in my career, my work was quite stressful, and I had to make major decisions on my own. I found that I took the stress home to my family.

At APM, however, I’m part of a team where I can consult with others when making decisions and I feel very supported in this environment.”

Gagandeep describes his APM leaders as easy going, caring and supportive and he’s pleased to have found a workplace where he feels encouraged to contribute to the team’s success and ask questions without hesitation. He also feels supported to challenge himself and try out new approaches. He’s also become an advocate for APM, introducing two new team members to the business.

“My experience working with our leaders in APM Assessment Services is always a very collaborative one - whether it’s the General Manager or my Team Leader – everyone is working together to create the best outcomes for our clients.

They also have our best interests at heart and value our work-life balance.”

Opportunity for me-time

Gagandeep enjoys reading books, but found he was unable to find quiet time to continue his hobby since becoming a father.

As travelling between aged care facilities is a feature of his current role, he’s happily immersed himself in 50 audiobooks so far and thrilled to have found some ‘me-time’ in his day.
