How Paula got to know APM and found a perfect match
Paula Scagliola came to know (and love!) APM as an event manager for our 2023 Global Leadership Forum, bringing together senior leaders from around the world to collaborate and drive connection to our shared purpose of enabling better lives.
With experience in event management for major hotels and conference centres, Paula had worked with a number of clients over the years but tells us that APM’s culture really stood out to her.
“The kind and supportive nature of everyone I worked with at APM to make the event a success caught my attention. I could sense the commitment to cooperation and I was drawn to the focus on people – making lives better around the world - but I also felt the importance placed on the wellbeing of its own people.”
Exploring a new career path
Paula kept APM top of mind as she’d planned a move to Perth, where APM began, and re-connected with the team once she’d settled in her new city.
“I was looking for a change and I felt like APM would be a great place to build a new career. My own personal values were a good match for APM’s focus on teamwork and quality service delivery.”
Paula was encouraged to explore APM’s current openings and set her sights on a Property Services Coordinator role that aligned with her client relationship management experience and organisational skills.
Soon after, Paula was interviewed for the role and was successful in her application. She now oversees maintenance and administration for APM’s office locations across Western Australia, Queensland, and New Zealand’s North Island.
“I’m proud to play a role in enabling better lives by creating comfortable and functional spaces for our people to deliver our services to the people we work with to find employment, or treat in an allied health capacity. Ensuring an effective and collaborative environment for our people is also important.
“Everyday, I can see the impact APM has on the communities we serve and how valued our role can be. Now that I’m part of the team, I’m experiencing the respect APM has for its people and I’m so grateful to be here learning new skills, and to know that there’s more areas of APM for me to explore in the future.”
