How APM encourages belonging and connection
APM is proud to celebrate equity, diversity and inclusion for our team members, customers, and communities around the world.
We love the fact that we are all different and we’ve worked hard to create a place you can belong and feel accepted, where you can bring your true self to work, and are empowered to do your best work.
To support our efforts and provide an important first-hand perspective, our people can get involved in APM’s Employee Communities, which focus on disability, LBGTQIA+ and First Nations engagement and initiatives. The communities are led by employees and drive key actions to raise awareness and deliver outcomes that shape our business.
All APMers are invited to join an Employee Community – from those with first-hand experience, to allies and supporters – everyone is welcome!
Here’s a snapshot of the DII-versity (Disability, Illness and Injury) Community
DII-veristy’s vision is to drive a culture that enhances engagement with people with disability, illness and injury.
The steering committee is led by Michael Dobbie-Bridges, APM’s Strategic Advisor on Disability.
A broader DII-versity community meets half-yearly to share their experiences and hear from guest speakers that will help to drive best practice at APM.
DII-versity’s initiatives towards improved inclusion have included:
-
Disability Awareness Training with Get Skilled Access with over 1500 employees to raise awareness about what it means to live with disability and how to create more inclusive workplaces
-
Partnering with the Australian Network on Disability and participating in the Access & Inclusion Index
-
Celebrating International Day of People with Disability with four high-profile speakers on different types of disability and how to help people thrive in the workplace
-
Supported the introduction of APM’s Reasonable Adjustment Policy to better support employees needing adaptations to their workplace or work practices, and provide guidance to line managers. This could mean providing wider desk spaces, text to voice software, flexible work hours, or access to quiet spaces
DII-versity offers a forum for people with disability, illness, or injury to provide frank and honest feedback about their experience at APM, leading to improvements in the workplace. This direct feedback from those impacted by decisions has helped to shape APM’s overall approach to diversity and inclusion.

Looking ahead, DII-versity is developing a global Disability Inclusion Policy, reviewing outcomes of Access & Inclusion Index to drive new initiatives, launching additional employee training given the success of our partnership with Get Skilled Access, and reviewing the Talent Acquisition process to ensure it is fair and equitable for all participants.
