The Role

The DevOps Engineer plays a key role in designing, building, and operating APM’s cloud and platform capabilities, enabling secure, reliable, and scalable technology delivery across the organisation.

This role is responsible for driving automation, standardisation, and DevSecOps practices across the technology lifecycle, supporting both infrastructure and application delivery through modern engineering approaches.

Based in Perth, Sydney, or Melbourne, this is an exciting opportunity to work within a global environment and contribute to the evolution of APM’s cloud platforms and engineering capability.

In this role you will:

  • Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
  • Embed DevSecOps practices, including security controls, scanning, and governance in pipelines
  • Automate infrastructure and application delivery to improve reliability and reduce manual effort
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting using Azure-native tools
  • Support incident response, problem management, and root cause analysis
  • Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and security teams to improve platform maturity
  • Contribute to platform standards, architecture, and roadmaps
  • Drive continuous improvement through automation, standardisation, and optimisation initiatives
  • Participate in an on-call support rotation to support critical services

Skills you’ll bring:

  • 5+ years’ experience working in Azure / Microsoft cloud environments or Systems Engineering roles
  • Strong hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code principles
  • Proven experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture, networking, identity, and security
  • Experience implementing DevSecOps practices, including security scanning and governance
  • Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools (e.g. Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, App Insights)
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (e.g. NIST, ISO, CIS)
  • Exposure to cloud security, vulnerability management, and compliance requirements
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and business stakeholders

What’s in it for you?

Working with a global organisation, you’ll play a key role in shaping and evolving APM’s cloud and platform engineering capabilities.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Work with modern technologies and contribute to next-generation cloud platforms
  • Embed best-practice DevOps and DevSecOps frameworks across a growing organisation
  • Influence how applications and infrastructure are delivered at scale
  • Grow your career within a global business spanning 11 countries
