Great opportunity based in Invercargill! Employment service in schools
Weâre looking for dynamic and motivated individual to coach youth â facing health-related challenges, on their journey to employment or higher education and training. This role is fixed-term covering 12 months maternity leave. This is your chance to make a real impact by helping young people build confidence, develop essential skills, and overcome barriers to work. If you have experience in youth work, recruitment, social services or any other relevant experience, but mainly life skills and enthusiasm to help people,  we want to hear from you!
What you'll do
- Provide support and guidance to young people with health conditions encouraging their goals which may include after school employment, future study options, designing career plans or full-time employment at the end of the education journey.
- Provide one-on-one coaching and mentoring to support youth in identifying their strengths and career goals
- Navigate challenges related to health, or life circumstances that may impact their employment, work experience, study or continued education journey at school
- Working with whanau and school supports and staff to achieve goals for each of your clients.
- Creating meaningful connections with local employers and businesses, government & industry/sector partners, disability support and other providers to seize golden work or training  opportunities for our students.
- Getting to know your students and their Whanau and supports, understanding their stories, and fostering trust.Â
- Taking students to career expos, workplace visits, local Polytechnics, and other providers to assist them with long term options once school is finished
- Support students to develop job seeking skills such as CV writing, interview preparation, and workplace expectations along with support with licenses.
- Work experience and tasters whilst at school and during the holidays.
Your background
- Current full NZ driverâs licence (reimbursement for work related travel is included)Â
- Our Employment Consultants are selected from a wide range of careers -- including recruitment, social services, sales, business development, government and industry. Â
- Life skills, enthusiasm to help people, grit & resilience, and the ability to bring the best out of people are key attributes we look for.Â
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to work with students facing diverse challenges.
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload.
- Be committed to giving 100% to each student
