Finance Manager

Lead financial excellence that enables better lives

We are seeking an experienced, hands‑on Finance Manager to lead high‑quality financial reporting, maintain robust internal controls, and guide a high-performing accounting team in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.

About the role

As a Finance Manager you will oversee timely and accurate financial reporting for Australia and New Zealand, while also delivering best practice controls, governance and compliance with IFRS, relevant standards, legislation, tax laws and APM’s internal policies and control frameworks.

You will partner with senior leaders, external auditors, advisors, suppliers, and Group Finance to deliver exceptional financial governance and financial reporting in support of driving APM performance.

This role requires exceptional technical accounting skills and qualifications partnered with strong leadership and transformation experience as APM finance is on an improvement journey of defining and implementing best practice finance systems, process and culture.

The ability to balance and deliver competing priorities while motivating and leading a team is imperative. Helping the team redefine their workload and processes to deliver effective business outcomes will ensure your success.

What you’ll be doing

  • Complete the monthly transactional processing and financial reports by working day 5, compliant with all recognition policies
  • Prepare and complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure all variances are investigated and resolved in line with timetable
  • Support external auditors and advisors with information and documentation to deliver all relevant audits on time with minimal to no findings
  • Own, implement and maintain a best practice controls and governance framework in a complex corporate structure
  • Lead and mentor Senior Accountants and accounting team members
  • Define and drive a continuous improvement team culture initially focusing on processes and behaviours to lay the foundation of systems enablement in the future

What you’ll bring

  • CA/CPA qualified with 5+ years post‑qualification experience
  • Strong leadership and team development capability
  • Deep understanding of accounting processes and IFRS application
  • A proactive, adaptable “can‑do” attitude
  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills
  • High degree of self‑motivation and resilience
  • Proficiency across Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience in Change Management and System Implementation (Highly Desirable)
