Pre-Release Prisoner Program Consultant
Pre‑Release Employment Consultant – Corrections & Community Reintegration
Are you someone with a strong backbone, thick skin and the ability to stay calm, professional and unflappable in challenging environments? We’re looking for a Employment Consultant to support individuals transitioning from custody back into the community — and into meaningful employment.
This role is ideal for someone who is kind but not soft, professional without being easily offended, and confident working with complex personalities and high‑pressure situations.
About the Role
This is a dynamic, on‑the‑move position covering the CNS region, working closely with participants at Lotus Glen Correctional Centre and individuals on parole. You’ll play a critical role in preparing people for release, connecting them with employment opportunities, and coordinating the support they need to reintegrate successfully.
You will:
Engage directly with pre‑release participants inside correctional facilities
Work alongside Corrections teams and parole officers to support transition plans
Match participants to suitable employment based on skills, location and parole conditions
Build strong employer and community networks to create job pathways
Maintain professional, consistent communication with employers, Corrections staff and community partners
Navigate tough conversations, set boundaries and keep participants accountable
Thrive in a fast‑paced environment where no two days look the same
This is not a desk‑bound job — you’ll be out in the community, building relationships, marketing job seekers and negotiating employment outcomes.
Who You Are
We’re looking for someone who is:
Resilient and steady‑headed – you don’t take things personally and you hold your ground
Professional and confident – able to communicate clearly with participants, employers and Corrections staff
Not overly empathetic – you care, but you don’t get pulled into emotional turbulence
Solutions‑focused – you see challenges as opportunities
Organised and adaptable – able to manage a region‑wide caseload and frequent travel
A natural connector – you build trust quickly and speak with authority
Motivated by impact – you want to help people rebuild their lives through employment
Experience in employment services, corrections, community services, sales, retail, call centres, hospitality, business development or similar people‑focused roles is highly valued.
A Day in This Role
Meeting with participants inside the correctional centre to plan for release
Marketing job seekers to employers and negotiating placement conditions
Building and maintaining employer and community partnerships
Working with Employment Consultants to secure sustainable job outcomes
Managing compliance, reporting and database requirements
Travelling across the region to support participants and stakeholders
Why You’ll Love It
Competitive salary + performance incentives
Ongoing training and career development
Supportive, inclusive team culture
Funded Certificate IV in Community Services or Mental Health Peer Support (eligibility applies)
EAP & wellbeing programs
Purchased leave options
Paid parental leave
Vehicle salary packaging
Recognition programs and team events
This is a role where your work genuinely changes lives — helping people break cycles, rebuild confidence and re‑enter the community with purpose.

Eligibility to work in Australia
Current driver’s licence + comprehensively insured vehicle
MyGovID (Standard level)
Willingness to complete a National Police Check
