Privacy Support Coordinator

The Role

We have a permanent part time opportunity for a Privacy Support Coordinator to join APM’s in‑house Legal and Privacy team. In this role, you will support the organisation in managing privacy enquiries, FOI requests, data incidents, complaints and broader privacy compliance across multiple business units.

You’ll work closely with the Senior Legal Counsel and collaborate with internal teams, government departments, regulators and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about privacy and law, has strong attention to detail, and wants to contribute to APM’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of data governance.

This role can be based in Perth or Sydney.

In this role you will:

  • Provide guidance, advice and training to support privacy compliance across APM.
  • Assist with maintaining the privacy risk register and privacy compliance monitoring activities.
  • Manage internal and external privacy enquiries, privacy complaints, privacy incidents, and requests for access to or correction of personal information.
  • Support the review and investigation of privacy incidents, including coordinating responses to major data breaches.
  • Assist with privacy impact assessments and drafting associated documentation.
  • Support risk and compliance functions including minute‑taking and meeting coordination.
  • Ensure privacy matters are managed accurately and within required timeframes.
  • Contribute to data governance and privacy improvement initiatives across APM.
  • Provide general support to the legal and privacy team as required.

Skills you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications or experience in legal compliance, FOI, privacy, legal support or contract administration. (Highly Desirable)
  • Working knowledge of the Privacy Act, Australian Privacy Principles and OAIC guidance. (Highly Desirable)
  • Experience working with records management systems and strong research skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation capabilities.
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Understanding of regulatory, legislative and contractual privacy requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and online research tools.
