Rehabilitation Support Officer

Come yarn with us and make a deadly impact

At Acumen Health, we know that having strong First Nations voices in our team makes all the difference. We’d love to yarn with you about joining us and the meaningful work we do every day supporting recovery, function and independence.

Experts in workplace health, injury management and safety, Acumen Health delivers high-quality services across personal injury and occupational health. We focus on helping people get back to work and back to life, whatever their age, stage or situation. Our personal injury division provides services through federal and state-based Workers Compensation schemes, Motor Accident Schemes and Life Insurance, and we are Australia’s exclusive provider of Occupational Rehabilitation services to the Australian Defence Force.

About the role

Make a real impact in a role that’s steady, structured and genuinely meaningful.

If you’re someone who’s confident using computers, values clear routines, predictable workdays and gets satisfaction from keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes - this could be a great fit for you!

As a Rehabilitation Support Officer, you’ll support the rehabilitation journey of injured ADF personnel by keeping documentation accurate, organised and up to date. Your consistency and attention to detail will help ensure people get the support they need.

You’ll start training in our Meeanjin (Brisbane CBD) office while your Defence security clearance is processed. Once cleared, you’ll move to working on base at Enoggera alongside two other Rehab Support Officers, with set hours of 07:30–15:30, Monday to Wednesday, clocking on and off each day - and no overtime ever!

What you’ll be doing

Your day will be structured and steady, with tasks including:

· Entering, updating and managing information in internal systems

· Uploading documents into a health record platform

· Coordinating case management paperwork

· Maintaining accurate medical record details

· Producing simple, regular reports

Once on base, your work will be supported and guided by an APS Regional Rehabilitation Manager.

What’s in it for you

We’ll give you a thorough induction and all the tools you need to feel confident in your role — including laptop and mobile phone.

You’ll also enjoy:

· Salary sacrifice options and ability to purchase extra leave

· Paid parental leave

· Mental health and wellbeing support

· Discounts at heaps of Aussie retailers and health insurance providers

· Career development tailored to your goals

· Access to the First Nations Community Yarn

· Option to join the First Nations Book and Film Club (for Mob and allies)

How we support our Mob

We’re proud to be walking the reconciliation journey with our Innovate RAP, and we’re lucky to have Karen Griffiths, Head of First Nations, leading the way and driving real change across our business.

Here’s how we support our deadly First Nations team

· First Nations Community Yarn — a safe online space to connect, share stories and support each other. We meet monthly to yarn about what matters to Mob

· First Nations Project Advisory Group — working alongside Karen on internal First Nations-specific projects. Always open to new voices

· EAP Support Line — free, confidential yarns with First Nations clinicians for work or personal support

· Reconciliation and NAIDOC Week celebrations, celebrated with heart across all our teams

· Support for First Nations staff to choose an alternative public holiday in place of 26 January

· A First Nations Book and Film Club accessible to all staff

What makes someone great in this role

· Has experience in a health or medical administration environment

· Finds comfort in routine and structured tasks

· Can stay focused and accurate with repetitive work

· Manages time well and stays organised

· Communicates clearly and works well with a team

· Brings an empathetic, personable approach to their work

· Can work on base Monday–Wednesday, 07:30–15:30

· Holds Australian Citizenship (required for Defence clearance)
