Shaping the future at APM

Secondment opportunities help our people to thrive and embrace their passion

Jasper’s diverse experience and willingness to embrace change have enabled him to build an interesting career pathway. Here at APM, he’s recently taken on a secondment opportunity, building on his love for supporting people and helping them thrive.

Let's hear more from Jasper!

Tell us a bit about you and career so far…

"I began my career as a chef and personal trainer, which taught me discipline, creativity, and how to connect with people from all walks of life. During that time, I also ran my own cookie dough business in Melbourne and Brisbane while studying - a rewarding experience that gave me a taste of entrepreneurship and resilience."

Tell us about your APM career pathway…

"I started my APM career in Employment Services and really valued the opportunity to support people who may not have had much support before. It felt incredibly rewarding to be in their corner and see them gain employment or further develop their skills.

Now, I’ve moved into a Strategic Sourcing role in the Talent Acquisition team as a secondment opportunity, and I’m loving it.

I truly believe that people are the heart of any business, so being able to cultivate a strong talent pipeline and help purpose-driven individuals find meaningful roles has been deeply fulfilling so far."

How has APM supported your career?

"APM has played a pivotal role in my journey, giving me the opportunity to grow professionally and now offering me an opportunity in another area of interest to me."

What do you enjoy about working at APM and your role?

"What I enjoy most about working at APM is the genuine focus on people - both the individuals we support and the teams we work with. Starting in Employment Services, I saw firsthand how impactful it is to be a steady presence for someone who may not have had much support before. Helping them gain employment or build new skills was incredibly rewarding.

Now, in my secondment in Talent Acquisition, I’m loving the opportunity to shape the future of our workforce. It’s fulfilling to build strong talent pipelines and connect purpose-driven individuals with roles where they can thrive."

What can you do at APM that you couldn’t do anywhere else?

"At APM, I’ve been able to grow in ways that feel both personal and professional. The culture here genuinely supports people - not just the clients we serve, but also our own team members.

I’ve had the chance to move from the frontline into a talent sourcing role, which has opened up a whole new world of opportunity. That kind of internal mobility and trust in potential isn’t something you find everywhere."

Advice for those interested in joining APM?
