Customer Support Officer - First Nations Identified Role

Before you get started, a quick heads-up: Applicants who progress will be invited to complete a short Vervoe skills assessment. This is an opportunity to demonstrate your strengths and potential beyond your resume. Once invited, you'll receive the assessment link via email, so please keep an eye on your inbox.

Customer Service Officer (Communities)

Are you passionate about helping people and creating positive experiences within your community? We are looking for people who enjoy connecting with others, solving problems, and making a real difference every day.

At APM, we recognise the value of diverse experiences and perspectives. We warmly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to apply and welcome applicants from all backgrounds, including those who may have gained valuable skills through community involvement, family responsibilities, cultural leadership, hospitality, retail, customer service, or other lived experiences.

This is a First Nations Identified Role, open only to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants, as per the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.

About the Role

As a Customer Service Officer, you'll be the first point of contact for people accessing our services. You'll support customers with appointments, answer questions, provide information, and help them navigate their journey with confidence.

This is an opportunity to be part of a team that supports communities while building your own career and professional skills.

What We're Looking For

You may be a great fit if you:

  • Enjoy helping people and building positive relationships.
  • Communicate clearly, respectfully, and with empathy.
  • Stay calm and focused when situations become challenging.
  • Are comfortable learning new systems and technology.
  • Have experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, administration, call centres, community services, or similar environments.
  • Can manage competing priorities in a busy workplace.
  • Work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Have strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Understand the importance of meeting commitments and delivering quality outcomes.

Don't meet every requirement? Please apply anyway. We value potential, transferable skills, cultural knowledge, and a willingness to learn just as much as direct experience.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting customers with bookings, appointments, and enquiries.
  • Listening to customer needs and providing practical solutions.
  • Accurately recording information using internal systems.
  • Building positive relationships through respectful communication.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across multiple sites.
  • Learning new processes and adapting to change.
  • Maintaining professionalism while supporting people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Contributing to a welcoming and inclusive environment for all customers.

Why Join APM?

At APM, we are committed to creating a culturally safe and inclusive workplace where everyone feels respected, valued, and supported to succeed.

Benefits include:

  • Work-life balance with no weekend work.
  • Additional purchased leave options.
  • Paid parental leave.
  • Discounted health insurance.
  • Novated vehicle leasing options.
  • Recognition and reward programs.
  • Career development and progression opportunities across the APM Group.
  • Access to learning, mentoring, and professional development opportunities.

Our Commitment to First Nations Peoples

APM is committed to increasing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander representation across our workforce and creating meaningful employment opportunities. We recognise the unique strengths, knowledge, and contributions that First Nations peoples bring to our teams, customers, and communities.

If you identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, we strongly encourage you to apply. If there is anything we can do to make the recruitment process more accessible or culturally appropriate, please let us know.

Important Information

This role requires standard pre-employment checks, including an NDIS Worker Screening Check and National Police Check.

Applications will be reviewed as they are received.

Ready to Apply?

We would love to hear from you. Apply today and complete your Vervoe assessment as soon as it arrives in your inbox. Candidates who complete the assessment promptly will be prioritised for interview.

Join a team where your experience, culture, and strengths are valued, and where you can make a meaningful impact in your community every day.
