Enabling better lives – it’s what we do
At APM, our purpose is to enable better lives every day. Our allied health teams deliver vocational and community rehabilitation services across Aotearoa, supporting people to recover, participate and thrive. We are guided by our APM ICREATE values – Integrity, Customer focus, Respect, Empathy, Achievement, Teamwork and Enthusiasm. In Aotearoa, these are strengthened by our Tikanga Māori values of Manaakitanga, Kotahitanga, Wairuatanga, Whānaungatanga and Rangatiratanga.
About the programme
Te Kōtuku Rerenga Tahi is APM’s two-year New Graduate Programme. It is designed to help you build confidence, clinical reasoning and professional capability in a supportive, values-led environment.
Our graduate programme has been running since 2017 and continues to evolve based on feedback from previous graduates, clinical leaders and our wider teams.
As an APM New Graduate, you will be welcomed into a national team and supported to develop initially across Vocational Rehabilitation, with later opportunity to extend into Community Rehabilitation Services. You will work alongside experienced clinicians while building the skills, judgement and confidence to make a meaningful contribution to the people and communities we support.
Your structured graduate programme will include:
- Dedicated supervision and opportunities to shadow senior clinicians.
- Diversity of work across workplace, community and clinic settings.
- Weekly New Graduate education sessions.
- Fortnightly structured service-specific learning.
- Facilitated reflective sessions with peers.
- Clinical Advisor support to strengthen your confidence and clinical reasoning.
- Weekly Team Leader coaching sessions.
- Graduate focus groups to share feedback and contribute to programme improvement.
- Kōrero sessions to review cases, learn from others and strengthen your clinical reasoning.
- Professional development through our Learning Management System.
Additional benefits
- Tools of the trade, including a laptop and mobile phone.
- Work vehicle with full personal use, valued at over $20k.
- 5 weeks annual leave to spend more time with family and friends.
- APC reimbursement.
- Career growth opportunities through APM and our global partner brands.
About you
- You are completing a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy and are ready to start your career with purpose.
- You communicate clearly and build trust with clients, whānau, stakeholders and the wider team.
- You are hard-working, open to feedback and willing to keep learning when things are complex or challenging.
- You have a strong desire to grow, develop and make a meaningful contribution to enabling better lives.
- You connect with APM’s ICREATE values – Integrity, Customer focus, Respect, Empathy, Achievement, Teamwork and Enthusiasm – and want to show them through your actions, decisions and relationships every day.
